FAQ-About Medic Buddy:

How does it work?

If you need a mobile urgent care visit, simply request an appointment through the Medic Buddy app, Medic Buddy Website, or call us at (505) 738-4100 to speak with a Medic Buddy expert. The expert will ask you questions to make sure your condition is appropriate for a mobile urgent care visit. If the answer is yes, they will provide you with an appointment range and two of our Medic Buddy team members will be sent to your location. Once they arrive, they will obtain a medical history and brief exam, perform procedures as necessary, and will initiate a video conference with one of our board-certified providers. The provider will perform a detailed exam using our state-of-the-art technology, determine the appropriate treatment, and treat your illness or injury all from the comfort of your home, workplace, or any other location.

What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine allows our health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat you or your loved one in a location separate from the provider. You may have heard it referred to as “telehealth” or “e-health”. Medic Buddy uses state-of-the-art telemedicine technology and hands-on diagnostic equipment to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses and injuries. Speak directly with a provider via teleconference to discuss your symptoms and come up with a treatment plan to be carried out by your Medic Buddies. It’s the 21st century “house call”!

Who will be taking care of me?

The Medic Buddy healthcare professionals that will be dispatched to your location are a combination of Registered Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs, and Medical Assistants. All of our “Medic Buddies” are highly trained and qualified to perform diagnostic testing and treatment. Our Medic Buddy providers are all experienced board-certified Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.

What if I need more care?

Medic Buddy can provide a variety of testing and treatment on-the-go, but sometimes you may need more. We have partnered with Duke City Urgent Care to provide additional services. If your provider determines that you need x-rays, ultrasound, certain medications, or more advanced treatment we may have you continue your appointment at one of Duke City Urgent Care’s convenient locations. If your provider determines that you require emergent care, the Medic Buddy team will contact 911 emergency services, provide stabilizing treatment as needed, and stay with you until EMS arrives.
